Episode 10: 5 Technical Decisions we made for this Sports Tech project and WHY we made them

Each week, we dive in deeper into what's gone on in the tincubator through the week in 14 minutes or less (I couldn't cut this one down, it was too fun!). Our topics are driven by conversations we have on social media, driven by the posts we share of our day-to-day business operations.

This week we're talking all about a piece of sports tech we've put out in the market called BOWdometer, which came from our Spensor development platform. Have you ever looked at a piece of high-tech electronics and wondered about the drivers for decisions that were made during implementation? Here, we break down 5 major decisions we made for the product and cut into why we made them. Every decision we make has technical implications, tradeoffs and ultimately a decision factor that influenced the outcome. We dive deep into this for BOWdometer, our commercialized archery tech product that's out on the market today.

Technical Decisions Covered:

#1: What user interactions (customer-facing I/Os) do we need

#2: Mechanical housing design decisions

#3: Edge computing vs. cloud computing for algorithms

#4: Over the air updates for adding and enhancing features

#5: Open Source development platform for IMU sensors and sports
