Episode 15: Real field testing issues that come up and how we diagnose them
Can we normalize issues being found during field testing? Since, you know, that's the entire point of field testing? Contrary to popular belief, QA can't always catch everything. In this specific video we're diving into issues we've been dealing with in the field for one of our products. QA is meant to ensure the system is working, and each piece that's manufactured along the way goes through it's own QA. There's a supply chain in place that needs to be trusted in order to manufacture anything in a reasonable timeframe.
And regardless of how much diligence you do, things will happen in the field. That's why field testing is so valuable and NOT a stage to be skipped in the product development cycle! People will chirp about how embarrassed companies should be when their users find problems but honestly, it's how iterative development works. It's all part of the process! Stability is built up over time.
